Lego + Sketchup : Sketchy Physics
I've been finding out about the Sketchy Physics plugin for Google SketchUp. I am just considering the amazing things that could be done with that, and Lego Ldraw models converted for sketchup.
The sketchy physics plugin only works directly with convex hulls (shapes with no concave or inny bits), but with some tweaking of the LDraw importer plugin, perhaps it could be made to build stuff in the right way for sketchy physics to work.
I am suddenly thinking of being able to simulate Lego automatons. Neat.
There are Rube-Goldberg style kinetic sculptures, domino contraptions, ball clocks and all other things created using this plugin - but not with Lego. Clearly bringing the two together would be an awesome achievement.
